| ALL PERSONS IN PIT AREA WILL FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS OF THE PIT STAFF,NO EXCEPTIONS!!! |
|
| Pit area will open 2 hours prior to the start time the day of the race. |
|
| All cars must be in pit area 1 hour prior to start. Any driver showing up late will be placed in a heat at official's discretion. |
|
| One tow vehicle & race car allowed in pits - No spectator vehicle. |
|
| No racing or ramming around in the pit area. |
|
| Once teched in,a car will not be allowed to leave the pit area except to enter/exit the race track during designated races. If this occurs you are disqualified for the night.No points or money will be awarded. |
|
| All persons in pit must be 16 years of age or accompanied by an adult and have a pit pass with them at all times. |
|
| Persons receving a pit pass are advised that by doing so they have waived any right to claim injury while in the pit area or track. |
|
| All cars must be removed from the pit area within 2 hours after the main event or become property of the DALLAS COUNTY FAIRGROUNDS.Valid entry receipt must accompany cars removed. |
|
|
|
|
| Drivers are responsible for the people in their pits and their families. Penalties will be disqualification for that night as well as the next race. |
Cruiser Class Rules
Part 1 – Chassis, Body, Roll Bars/Cage
1. Car must be completely stock, any 2 or 4 door car that meets wheelbase &
frame requirements is eligible.
2.
112” minimum
wheelbase-no Chevy or Chevy motors. Car must have frame or if car is front
wheel drive it can be unibody. No station wagons, 4x4, pickups, el camino.
3. Remove all exterior trim, molding, glass & mirrors. Remove all front end
nose pieces that can be broken with a hammer. No covering of radiator or
headlight area, except light mesh screen or wire. (no metal, expanded metal or
tin, etc.)
4. Remove all flammable material including dash, door panels, carpeting &
bench seat.
5. All doors must be chained or welded shut, can have “inside the car” door
protection.
6. Must have a 4 point roll cage (or better) welded to the frame. We will
allow an X brace under roll cage and under fuel cell.
7. Window nets on driver & passenger side required.
8. Full screen in place of windshield required.
9. No frame plating, no bumper reinforcements (no channel), no kickers, no
frame mounted hood pins.
10. Bumper straps from side of bumper to fender and a real quarter panel is
recommended maximum material 6” wide by 12” long by 1/8” thick. (No channel
iron).
11. Tow hooks mandatory on both ends of car you may use chains or flat straps.
Must be visible, easily accessible and reachable from standing position.
12. Trunk must be able to be opened with quick release pins for fuel cell
inspection, fire or leakage or 4” x 6” non-covered hole over fuel cell.
13. Doors can have metal protection that does not exceed 6” past the doorframe
on the right and left front door only. Nothing more than 1/8” plate on
outside. Pipes must be attached to cage on inside of original body. No rub
rails that exceed 1/8”. No extended , tubing, angle rub rails.
14. Approved circle track steel or aluminum racing seat required.
15. No jagged or protruding metal. Official’s decision is final. Must start
with a bumper and hood, if it falls off you will get equipment flag. Must
enter track the next race with a bumper and hood in place.
16. Must be a factory fire stop wall without holes between engine & driver.
Part 2 - Engine Transmission Drive Train
17. Maximum cylinder compression of 155 at any time. (Zero Tolerance)
18. Motors must pull 16” or greater (17,18,19) of vacuum at 1000 rpm that is
checked by the carburetor. (Zero Tolerance) A Tach will be used by inspectors.
Must have vacuum supply line accessible to the fender well.
19. Accelerator belongs on passenger side only, far right side, attached to
the floor, out of reach of the driver. There is to be no pedal, wires,
strings, or rods, etc. within reach of driver.
20. . No electric fuel pumps. Must be carbureted. Fuel injected motors and
electric fuel pump with safety shut off are allowed only if car is front wheel
drive.
21. Motors must be in original position.
22. Drive shaft must be painted white and have a loop 360 degrees around the
front of each one approximately 3” behind the U-joint. Minimum 1 1/8 flat
strap. NO CHAINS. NO ALUMINUM DRIVESHAFTS.
23. No aluminum intakes.
Part 3 - Rear End Suspension Wheels Tires
24. Must run passenger car tires. Must be 75 series, stock DOT tires. P rated
4 ply and B load rating. No mud, tire inside a tire, snow, no chained, stud or
racing tires. No LT pickup tires. No alterations. A tire gauge will be used to
determine eligibility of tires. Tire must fit gauge. Hubcaps removed. Tires
will be checked at staging. Officials decision is final.
25. All 4 tires must be the same size.
26. All wheels must have 1” lug nuts on all wheels. Cars cannot race with
broken or stripped studs or nuts.
27. No bead locks. Valve stem protection is allowed. Reinforcement of rim at
stud hole location is recommended.
28. 4 wheel working brakes required. No brake valves.
29. No sandbags.
30. APPROVED TIRES:

*Gillette Bear P225/75R15 M&S
*Cientra Plus Steel Belted P225 75R15
*Kumho 795 Touring AS P225 75R15
*UniRoyal Tiger Paw P205 75R15
No grinding or grooving on tires allowed.
Part 4 - Cooling, Fuel, Battery
31. Must remove factory fuel tank.
32. All cars must have racing fuel cell with rollover valve and vented outside
of drivers compartment. Fuel cells may be in trunk or over axle hump with good
fire stop wall between tank and driver. No rubber fuel line or oil line inside
of drivers compartment.
33. Only gasoline fuel is allowed. No racing fuel of any kind. No nitrous,
alcohol, oxygen or other additives.
34. Battery must be under the hood contained and in a metal box. Must be
accessible from hood only—not seen in drivers compartment.
35. Must have battery kill switch mounted to left of steering wheel on dash in
plain view. Must kill engine, prevent engine from starting.
Part 5 – Safety
36. All drivers must wear approved safety equipment at all times on the track.
Approved safety equipment is: protective headgear, long sleeves and long pants
are mandatory. Neck rolls and firesuit are very highly recommended.
37. Helmets, racing seat, and minimum for (4) point harness required. Seat and
harness must be attached to cage. No factory seat belts.
38. Safety
inspection required and inspector’s decisions are final. Must have 3-sided
sign, 16”x16”, Securely fastened to the top of the car. Sign must be black
with yellow numbers. Putting number on door is optional. It is strongly
recommended that you purchase your number. Once a number is purchased, that
number will be used for the remainder of the race season. The fee is $20.00
and proceeds go towards the banquet at seasons end.
39. Plate steel on floorboard from back of seat to front firewall recommended.
40. Fire extinguisher recommended in each pit.
41. Must keep arms inside car. Black flag will be thrown for waving or hanging
arm out.
42. Officials will determine if a car is unsafe to run on this track.
